NZSL Direct enables you to send an email, an application, or a submission in NZSL from any computer with a webcam. It was recently used as a tool to collect submissions from the New Zealand Deaf community for the Constitution Conversation.
A topic currently open for submissions is the proposal to renovate Auckland Deaf Society Inc. clubrooms. Using NZSL Direct, ADS members can submit their views on the proposal in NZSL, and have until 31 August 2013 to do so.
The Combined Board of Trustees of Kelston and van Asch Deaf Education Centres are currently seeking expressions of interest from Deaf community members to become a co-opted trustee. Using NZSL Direct, Deaf community members are able to submit their expression of interest in NZSL. The deadline is Monday 19 August 2013.
Using NZSL Direct is an extremely straightforward process. You simply visit NZSL Direct page, choose which organisation you want to contact (this includes who you’re giving your submission or application to); enable your webcam; hit ‘record’ and sign your message. Once you’re finished,you’re your video message has been reviewed, hit ‘send’ and you’re done! Seeflow’s translation team will translate your message into English and pass it to the organisation on your behalf.
